The Milwaukee Tool Library is a lending library of things, where anyone can check out tools and equipment for just about any project you can think of.

We are currently welcoming tool donations! If you believe in the power of tool libraries and would like to support this initiative here in Milwaukee, please donate today! Check out our Wish List for ideas. There are also volunteer opportunities listed if you don’t have tools to donate!

How Does It Work?

We operate just like a lending library, but for physical goods. When you enroll and become a member, you get access to every piece of equipment the library has. Simply visit us during our hours of operation and sign out the item or items that you need!

How Do I Sign Up?

Enrolling is easy! Visit us and present a valid form of ID along with proof of address. Registration only takes a minute or two, and once it’s done, you can start taking out equipment right away.

It’s Free?

Completely! Membership is always free, but we do suggest three levels of donation. If a tool is returned late, we may charge a small late fee, depending on the circumstances and the tool borrowed.

Shaky Hands Union Printing

Beyond donations from individuals, businesses and organization, the Tool Library is primarily funded through our print lab, Shaky Hands Union Printing! Hire us to make vinyl stickers, banners, posters, canvas art, decals and more!
